Search "ChatGPT prompts for Amazon sellers" and you get lists for writing listing titles, bullet points and PPC keywords. That is brand-owner work. If you do arbitrage, you need prompts that answer sourcing questions: what to buy today, which stores to keep watching, whether your account can list a product, and what the profit is after your own costs.
Those prompts fail in a bare chatbot. Below are 35 that work once your AI app can see your data, grouped by the job, with the tool that runs behind each one.
Why sourcing prompts fail on a bare chatbot
A chatbot with no connection has three problems on sourcing questions.
It has no data. It cannot see your saved leads, the sellers you track or what they added this morning. Ask "what should I buy today?" and it gives you a generic list of categories.
It cannot check your account. Eligibility depends on your seller account, so "can I sell this?" has a different answer for you than for the next seller. A chatbot answers from what it remembers about commonly gated brands.
It guesses the fees. Profit depends on the category's referral rate, the size tier and your own prep and inbound costs. A model does that math from memory and gets it wrong by a dollar or two, which on an arbitrage buy is the margin. I wrote up where that breaks in why ChatGPT gets your FBA fees wrong.
The fix is an MCP server, a connector that lets ChatGPT or Claude call real tools. The Arbitrage Stalker MCP server reads your leads, tracked sellers and costs, checks eligibility on your own Amazon account, and runs profit through the same calculator as the app. Every prompt below maps to one of its tools. If MCP is new to you, start with what an Amazon seller MCP server does.
You do not need to type tool names. I list them so you know where each answer comes from.
Daily leads
- "What should I buy today?" Pulls your newest leads, screens out ones with Amazon on the listing or a rank that will not move, and gives a shortlist with the reason each survived. (
search_leads) - "Show my saved leads from this week with ROI above 30%." (
search_leads) - "Which of my leads are in Toys and under $25 buy cost?" (
search_leads) - "Why is this lead good or bad?" Returns the structured evidence behind it. (
explain_lead) - "Which lead lists do I have?" Shows your saved lists so you can point the next prompt at one. (
list_lead_banks) - "Save B0XXXXXXXX to my Q4 list." (
add_to_list)
Store roster cleanup
- "Which of my tracked sellers is producing?" Your roster with new products per store over the last 7 and 30 days. (
list_tracked_sellers) - "Which stores turned up nothing in 30 days?" Those are store slots you are wasting. (
list_tracked_sellers) - "Untrack the three stores with zero finds this month." Confirms before it removes anything. (
untrack_sellers) - "Track A13HBC3ALIRHY6 and put it on my Seasonal monitor." Paste a seller ID or an Amazon storefront link. It adds the store, files it under that monitor and tells you how many store slots you have left. (
track_sellers) - "Show me what this seller added in the last 30 days." (
storefront_feed)
Buy decisions
- "Is this worth buying at $12?" Exact profit and ROI with your saved prep and inbound costs, plus the velocity and competition read. (
calculate_profit,analyze_asin) - "Run the profit on B0XXXXXXXX at $14.50, FBM, 2.1 pounds." (
calculate_profit) - "What happens to ROI if the price drops to $26.99?" (
calculate_profit) - "Look up B0XXXXXXXX: rank, offers, fees and risk." (
analyze_asin) - "Give me an Apex Read on this one." Costs 1 credit fresh, free if a current verdict exists. (
apex_read) - "Score this list." Paste fifty ASINs. It tells you how many are already scored and free, how many need a fresh read, and what that costs, before spending anything. (
analyze_batch) - "This ASIN isn't in the cache. Import it." One credit, free on products refreshed in the last week. (
refresh_asin)
Eligibility
- "Can I sell these?" Paste up to 100 ASINs. Each comes back BUY, APPLY with the approval link, SKIP, BAD_ASIN or PENDING. (
check_eligibility) - "Check my Q4 list for anything I'm gated on." (
list_lead_banks,check_eligibility) - "Is Carter's one brand gate on my account?" (
brand_eligibility) - "Check every IKEA product and tell me which ones I can sell." Runs the full brand sweep. I walked through it in the brand sweep post. (
brand_eligibility,search_products,check_eligibility) - "List the APPLY rows with their approval links." It hands you the links. It never applies for you, because failed attempts count against you. (
check_eligibility) - "Which rows came back BAD_ASIN?" Typos, not restrictions. Fix them instead of deleting the lead. (
check_eligibility)
Sourcing location
- "Where do I source this?" The retailers seen carrying that product or brand. (
source_radar) - "Which retailers carry this brand?" (
source_radar) - "Find every Lego product my tracked sellers carry." (
search_productswith the feed scope)
Supplier lists
- "Match these UPCs." Paste barcodes and get ASINs back with rank and buy box for each match. (
match_upc) - "Upload this supplier price list and price every row." (
wholesale_upload) - "Is my price list done yet?" (
wholesale_status) - "Show the profitable rows from that list, ROI above 25%." (
wholesale_results)
Monitors and watches
- "What did my sellers add since yesterday?" New finds filtered by brand, category, price or rank. Run it each morning and you see only what they added since the last run. (
storefront_feed) - "Show me my monitors and where each one sends alerts." (
list_monitors) - "Pause alerts on my Seasonal monitor." Pausing stops alerts. It never stops scanning. (
manage_monitor) - "Watch this product page for a restock." Checks a retailer page on a schedule and logs price drops and restocks against the ASINs you link. Most Shopify brand stores work. Kohl's, Walmart and Jellycat block automated checks, and it tells you so when you set up the watch. (

How to write your own prompts
The 35 above cover the daily sourcing jobs. You will want your own, and a few habits make them land.
Name the filter
"Show me good leads" gets you a guess at what good means. "Leads with ROI above 30%, rank under 80,000, Amazon not on the listing" gets you a list you can act on.
Give a buy cost when you want profit
Feed rows from tracked sellers carry a buy box price but no buy cost, so there is no ROI on a feed row until you supply what you would pay. Say "at $11 buy cost" and the calculator does the rest.
Chain the jobs in one message
"Pull what my sellers added since yesterday, check eligibility on all of it, and give me profit on the BUY rows at the max cost from the feed." The assistant runs the tools in order and hands you one table.
Ask before it spends
Most tools are free. Fresh Apex Reads, batch scoring of uncached ASINs, imports and brand catalog listings cost credits. Batch scoring quotes the cost first and waits for a yes. If you want the same for anything else, say "tell me the credit cost before you run it."
Where these prompts run
These prompts work in Claude on the web, desktop and phone, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor. For Claude and ChatGPT, add https://app.arbitragestalker.com/mcp as a custom connector, sign in and click Allow. No key to copy. Claude Code and Cursor take a connection key instead.
If you are still deciding between the two chat apps, I compared them for this kind of work in Claude vs ChatGPT for Amazon sellers. For how other sellers use ChatGPT across their whole business, read ChatGPT for Amazon FBA.
Start with one prompt tomorrow morning
Pick prompt 32 and run it before you open any other tab. If your sellers added something worth buying, prompts 19 and 12 tell you whether you can list it and what it makes.
Every paid plan includes the MCP server, starting with Scout at $29 a month on the pricing page. Sign up for Arbitrage Stalker, then use the Claude and ChatGPT connection steps to hook up your AI app and paste in your first prompt.
Let the deals come to you
Arbitrage Stalker watches proven storefronts, scores every lead against your numbers, and tracks each deal to sold and rebuy. Capped feeds keep your finds exclusive.
